First Visit

During the initial examination, we collect all the data necessary to determine your specific condition and needs. If radiographs are not available, we will take them as necessary. All this information will be used to formulate a plan to create a healthy and functional smile for you.

In most cases treatment options and treatment plans are presented at this appointment for your consideration. Sometimes it is necessary to gather further information from your family dentist, medical doctor and/or other dental specialists to insure the most effective and efficient plan possible.

Treatment is generally not provided at the initial examination appointment. Possible exceptions are crown lengthening, frenectomies, orthodontic tooth exposures and mild to moderate gingival reshaping (“gingivectomy”).

Our staff will provide you with any fee information, insurance information and help you arrange necessary appointments.

Results of your initial examination including findings, copies of any radiographs taken, treatment recommendations and treatment dates are faxed or mailed to your referring office.

You are welcome to bring other family members with you to your examination.

If not already sent, your referral slip and any radiographs from your referring dentist.

A list of medications you are currently taking (please note that you can fill out our patient registration and medical history form on this web site).

Complete forms that were sent to you, if not completed on this web site.

If you have dental insurance, please bring any forms or insurance cards with you to the appointment.

Please note: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the initial examination appointment.
